Village trail 5 – Gammelgård og Ole Madsen

Gammelgård is one of the original farms in Jordløse. It was bought off by Jørgen Jørgensen in 1874. He sold the farm to Ole Madsen in 1880.
Ole Madsen, entrepreneur
Ole Madsen was 24 years old when he attended the folk high school in Ryslinge in 1870. He married Maren in 1877 and together they purchased Gammelgård.
Ole Madsen was one of the founders of the cooperative dairy in Jordløse in 1887 and was its first chairman. The building which housed the first dairy is at Nygårdsvej 5. It is now a residential property.
